In this blog post I will share with you 10 beautiful boutique hotels in Croatia that are in my opinion worth booking. The boutique hotels on this list are all very different and they cover most Croatian regions, not just the famous spots.
You can sleep inside Diocletian’s Palace in Split, stay in a former noble residence in Dubrovnik, wake up among the vineyards of Slavonia or book a small design hotel overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

If you’re a history lover and want a unique, and historical place to stay, then Hotel Vestibul Palace Split is the perfect choice for you!
The hotel is actually inside the Diocletian’s Palace, between the former imperial chambers and Peristyle Square. It incorporates original Roman walls into its interior, so you’d feel like you’re inside the former palace.
Additionally, it’s in the Split Old Town, which makes it a perfect location for sightseeing.

It is worth booking for its central location alone, but the combination of historic architecture, modern design and art gives it the distinctive character you would expect from a proper boutique hotel.

Hotel Podstine Hvar is located in a quiet bay, around a 20-minute walk from the centre of Hvar Town.

One thing to note is that the hotel closes for the off season, so if you’re visiting in this period, unfortunately you won’t be able to stay here.

The hotel is housed in a 17th century baroque palace just steps away from the Stradun Promenade in Dubrovnik Old Town, which is a perfect location for exploring Dubrovnik.
The rooms are individually decorated with antique furniture, artwork, handmade mosaics and olive-wood floors. It’s truly one of the most beautiful and unique hotels in Dubrovnik to stay.

Vila Vinkomir Kutjevo is located in the underrated region of Slavonia, which most people miss to visit.
Unlike a typical hotel, it has only two deluxe rooms, both with spacious terraces and private hot tubs overlooking the vineyards.
This is the hotel I would choose for a quiet weekend built around good food, local wine and beautiful views. It is also a great addition to a Slavonia road trip if you want to see a completely different side of Croatia.

Jägerhorn Hotel Zagreb
Hotel Jägerhorn is the oldest hotel still operating in Zagreb. It was opened in 1827 and refurbished in 2011.
There are only 18 rooms, as well as a hidden courtyard and coffee terrace. The location is great for sightseeing because it’s a few minutes walk from Ban Jelacic Square.
It is a good option if you want to explore the city on foot and prefer smaller hotels over large international chains.

Fenomen Plitvice Resort
Fenomen Plitvice Resort is one of the best boutique hotels in the area that you can book.
It is made up of 18 studios, suites and lodges spread across eight houses near Plitvice Lakes National Park.
The accommodation is surrounded by nature and feels more private than staying in a standard hotel room. Some units also come with a separate living area and kitchenette, which is useful if you’re staying for more than one night.
I would book it for the location and the opportunity to enjoy Plitvice early in the morning, before most day-trippers arrive.

Boutique Hotel Valsabbion in Pula is a small, modern hotel beside the sea, just outside Pula.

Book this hotel if you want a quiet base by the sea and don’t need to stay directly in Pula’s historic centre.
The hotel is among the most expensive boutique hotels on this list, but if you want a luxury experience and don’t mind the price, it surely is a great choice.

Puteus Palace Heritage Hotel Brac

It is worth booking if you want to experience a quieter side of Brac while staying somewhere that reflects the island’s history and traditional stone architecture.
